15th March 2019, London – Transparency International UK (TI-UK) is delighted to announce Steve Cockburn and Dominic Martin as the newest members of its Board of Trustees, with both Sarah-Jayne Clifton and Eddie Rich joining from May.

Steve Cockburn is a human rights specialist and Deputy Director for Global Issues at Amnesty International, where he heads up the organisation’s global research, campaigning and advocacy on issues including the arms trade, death penalty and migrant labour rights. Dominic Martin has previously sat on TI-UK’s Advisory Council and worked for twenty-seven years in the UK Diplomatic Service, including as the UK’s Ambassador to the OECD where he was involved in the development of the UK Bribery Act.

Joining the TI-UK board in May, Sarah-Jayne Clifton is director of Jubilee Debt Campaign, a UK charity working to end poverty caused by unjust debt through research, education and campaigning. Eddie Rich is Deputy Head of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative – the global standard for open governance of oil, gas and mining and has worked in development for over twenty-five years.

All new Trustees were recruited through open competition, as per TI-UK’s Governance Procedures, and have been co-opted until the next Annual General Meeting (November 2019) where they will be put forward for election.
