18^th May 2018, London – Commenting on the announcement of a House of Lords committee to review the UK Bribery Act, Robert Barrington, Executive Director Transparency International UK, said:

“The Bribery Act helped put the UK in a strong position for fulfilling its international anti-bribery commitments.  In a post-Brexit world, we hope this review will not be used as a way to water  down legislation that has gained Britain respect throughout the world and led to other countries following suit. Transparency International will certainly be making a submission on both the strengths and weaknesses of this important legislation.”
